12,722 CY soil cement for marijuana grow facility

Our engineering company was providing third-party oversight for fill placement within the building pad and crane road. Due to elevated moisture content within the site soils and weather constraints, compaction could not be realized without amending the site soils. The client was provided two options including traditional "remove & replace" and soil cement and elected the more cost advantageous option of soil cement. SLI mobilized to the site within one week of approval and completed this project on time.

2,700 CY soil cement project located in South Philadelphia for Wright Partners

This site contained loose urban fills common to most cities. Existing soils did not meet clean fill standards which is typical for urban sites. "Remove & replace" or deep foundations were proposed by other companies. After our engineering company proposed test pits, laboratory analyses, and similar, we provided a far more affordable solution - soil cement.

8,000 CY soil cement for 3-story, 105,000 SF storage facility for Premier Storage Investors

Our engineering company performed extensive due diligence geotechnical analysis and similar to overcome very soft, wet, and troublesome elastic silts. Soil cement stabilization was a multi-step process to achieve our client's financial goal: an inexpensive conventional foundation with total settlement less than 0.5 inches. Our engineering company performed the required special inspections on the vertical build per NJ D.C.A. requirements.

Soil cement & site work package for storage facility for Premier Storage Investors

Soil cement remediation was completed for on-site soils due to excessive moisture content. Once soil cement was completed, we completed the site work package, including utility installation, retaining wall, landscaping, and paving.

Retaining wall repair & drainage improvements

Our engineering firm has assisted the HOA for over a decade to overcome various degrees of failure for multiple retaining walls within the 200+ home community. One specific project entailed installing a stone lined swale and connecting all roof leader to the underdrain under the stone to reduce erosion, scour, and the hydrostatic pressure causing retaining wall failure.

Multiple remediation/repair attempts utilizing concrete and inverted cone methods by others consistently failed. The best solutions are not trial & error but rather backed up with over 25 years of engineering experience to both identify the problem and the field experience to provide efficient means and methods to correct the same. We implemented a bypass pump and cofferdam in conjunction with flushing, flowable fill, impermeable liner, bentonite, and stream bank restoration. 

Nearly 20-foot deep sinkhole opened in a residential community

Bentonite emended soils compacted and saturated in contained lifts, amended soil "cap" installed, and conveyance of both surface and surface water away from the soluble limestone.

Retaining wall replacement

A King of Prussia, PA community contained multiple failing retaining walls. Given close proximity to existing buildings, roads, and utilities, traditional segmental block or concrete walls were not feasible. Concrete bin blocks with a textured face was selected along with required drainage and installed to replace multiple failing walls throughout the community.

Community basin repair

Decades after installation and mowing cause many basins to retain standing water, realize scour/erosion, and failure of original installed structures. Underdrains, soil amendment, pipe lining, and similar can restore these facilities. SLI is also versed in providing appropriate vegetation to enhance the aesthetics of the facilities at the client's request.
